My entry point
Around 2000, I bought a copy of Red Dirt Girl and wore it out. It feels like it might be her most artistic album, but I can’t really judge that until I hear them all! The melodies have a lot of crossover from song to song, and the whole thing is dreamy and sad and heavenly.

Red Dirt Girl is my favorite album and my favorite song. I recently cried as I tried to sing it, karaoke-style, for my daughter. I’m still trying to figure out why.
Emmylou is starting to rack up a lot of lifetime achievement awards.

Country Music Hall of Fame interviews
The Polar Awards put together a really sweet program to honor her, as only the Scandinavians can do, with formalwear and earnest admiration.
Here’s Emmylou, Dolly, and Linda Ronstadt performing their trio live on TV. A longer news feature on the trio with individual interviews. A short essay on the trio in Oxford American.
How about you, can you recommend a song by Emmylou Harris?
