A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. Its a Persian American vampire western feminist film lol. its filmed in a desert in california, but its entirely in persian lol. its really interesting.
I wonder what you'd think of mitski latest album :) it's kind of country but it's very eclectic with japanese influence... Also she has an album called "be the cowboy" lol with a pop cowboy aesthetic and a song called "a horse named cold air" - this post made it pop in my head lol. Here's one from her newest more folk/country album :
All the McCarthy books I have read disturbed me but the writing intrigued me, I just bought another in the airport I think his latest before he died? Can’t remember the title it’s back at the hotel. The movie All the Pretty Horses is good as is 3:10 to Yuma. I enjoy a Larry McMurtry book here and there. What are westerns for ? I love the descriptions of the scenery and the atmosphere.
My Grandfather also collected trashy novels :)
Don’t recall ever reading a western novel specifically. Love it as a movie genre though.
okay another extremely eclectic western film that i just remembered:
